Like buying bolt cutters in Wal-Mart at 9pm on a Sunday the day before a Holiday. Which I had to do tonight.
Because we were on our way out. And we were taking my wife’s car, and she didn’t bring her door controller. And she doesn’t keep it in her car because one time I asked her in front of our house (in our wondefully nice new neighborhood mind you) if she had it in her car still. And she had to have chains on the doors as well, even though it’s a double lock door with a deadbolt. So we had to cut it with bolt cutters, which we had to go buy.
My wife being terrified of life is a real pain sometimes. I guess I should just be glad she didn’t ask me to put some ridiculous contraption in the front door that could not have been dealt with, forcing us to break a window or call a locksmith to get in...

Johnson Automotive badger ads are the best thing to ever come out of Raleigh.

yeah - life is going to get you at some point no matter how many locks you have on your doors.. But i would have loved to watch all those Walmart folks wondering what you were going to do with that! :)

Buy her a revolver and load it with blanks.
The revolver so she feels safe at all times.
Blanks so that she doesn’t get startled, frightened, and accidentally shoot you.

I may have to refer to youtube...
...but regionally speaking, Vern Fonk (rip) [Washington] and Perkins Auto Recycling [Atlanta] commercials would be hard to beat.

She’s already packing, and still scared of life...

Vern Fonk ads are pure art. My father lives in Seattle, so I remember watching them when I visited him at a younger age. The guy who starred in the ads recently died of cancer, which sucks. It was a big deal in Seattle, apparently. And Fonk himself died like ten or so years ago.

I actually live 10 minutes from Johnson Hyundai/Subaru/Maserati, and the two Lexus dealerships are 35 and 45 minutes away, respectively. The badger is actually still out there, as these ads live a legacy in the area.

Well shit. Now I’m just a little scared for you.
You guys have kids? (If you don’t mind me asking.)

Might I suggest...
I never knew I wanted one until I installed a garage door opener for my mom. The keypad is just so handy! You can get a universal keypad for less than $30 at the local big box home handyman store.

Buy a pick set. Or, an option that worked for me recently was to use another key that was mostly similar to the one that was an hour and a half away.

I suggest a fake rock key hide, and put a door opener inside.
That or its time for a Raspberry Pi/Arduino project so you can open the garage via wifi. Pis have a GPIO so you can push a command for opening/closing a circuit to trigger the door opener. That would be cool.

Sadly, no. I’d love it if they were.
